ended in two crashes, hospitalized bicyclist. terry mcsweeney joins us live from the mission district with new information. >> reporter: new information from the chp and new information from city workers. looks like it is not going to be until noon before the lights go back on at 17th and south van ness that is going to be a problem, nobody is out here directing traffic. they've flares out now, i've seen people come through at 30 miles an hour, reason that we have in problem is because the signal box got knocked over at the end of an incident that began 2:00 this morning on the on-ramp to i-80 at 4th street. next, according to the chp that on-ramp was closed that got their attention so did the speeding, weaving, as you look at these picture the incident took five minutes, the jeep that they were chasing up to speeds of 55 miles per hour, slammed into a car which hit a bicyclist. chp not sure if the bicyclist was on the bike or walking the bike, that bicyclist was taken to the hospital, checked out, minor injuries, probably released by now. now take a look at where ended where i am a s

killed in the south bay will be laid to rest today. matt keller joining us live with more on the service and the update on the investigation there to the case. >> reporter: yeah. i checked in with the san jose police department spokesperson for the update on this case. they are still search for a second suspect or at least that's what was happening all this week as they released a sketch on that expect now hee mailed me back and said per the homicide unit we aren't confirming or denying any new information. that came after i asked them if an arrest had been made. >> the man was shot and killed last week. one of the suspects a 26-year- old was in court wednesday. police say he and another man robbed four businesses, murdered a 22-year-old in a carjacking and participated in a shoot out with two officers one of the officers was hit and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. willbanks was arrested the next morning. officers released a sketch of the second suspect, a 20,000- dollar reward is being offered for his arrest. the funeral for the victim is being held this morning at 11. we wi

spots are still flooded. cbs 5 reporter da lin shows us that includes a stretch of the great highway tonight. >> reporter: they had to shut down the great highway because of standing water from lincoln to slope. this traffic signal is buried in 7 feet of sand. the high winds blew the beach sand on the road. a combination of heavy downpours and high winds flooded streets and knocked out power around the bay area this morning. >> it was pouring down rain. >> reporter: high winds brought down this large tree limb in saratoga. pg&e officials say this 28-foot section shut down traffic on thelma avenue and knocked out power to about 200 homes in the neighborhood. pg&e crews hope to have electricity here restored by 7:00. same problem in pacifica. pg&e crews say 7 outages in the coastal city darkened about 1200 homes and business. >> we are the first guys to get wind right off the ocean. so it's more gusty than you get over the hill or even in san francisco. we're like the front line as far as that's concerned. >> reporter: some small business owners had to shut down their stores. >> hardwa

: well, police know who they are looking for but they won't tell us any suspect information. they still do have this area at jacqueline road and esqella parkway blocked off. the officer was making a traffic stop and the driver started shooting at the officer. the officer stopped the car for a moving violation. the officer got out of his car and the driver of the other car did too and started to fire. >> he fled the location in his vehicle. >> reporter: again, you heard the driver took off. now there is a search going on for him. police have his license plate number and are trying to track him down. but again, they are not releasing any information about what kind of vehicle he's driving or any description of him. so people who live in this area are concerned. they say shootings usually don't happen here and they really would like to know some more information because at this point, we know that there is a man on the loose and he's armed with a gun. we're not sure if he fled somewhere in this neighborhood or if he's taken off to another city. we do know that this intersection will be clo

. new at noon police just finished a news briefing, alex savidge joins us live with more on the investigation and the people who helped the victim. good afternoon, alex. >> reporter: good afternoon, at that briefing that wrapped up here a lieutenant said this woman is lucky she survived. witnesses found her beaten in a ditch along the side of the freeway. bound with duct tape. police used those witness accounts and also information from the victim herself to track down and arrest a 14-year- old boy in connection withis vicious attack. investigators say the 65-year- old woman was kidnapped at gun point late yesterday from this shopping center on the 100 block of plaza drive. vallejo police say the gunman forced her to drive her minivan several miles away to an area near hidden brook parkway. that is where investigators believe this 14-year-old attacker sexually assaulted the woman and beat her unconscious, the teen drove off in the woman's minivan. thankfully though witnesses found her and got her help, quite possibly saving her life. >> in the greatest sense they were imp

joins us live with more on the captain's condition and the damage to that apartment complex. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, laura. i just spoke with the captain on scene here in san jose and he said that that firefighter will be kept overnight for observation. he said that he was hurt when falling sheetrock actually hit him, but i wanted to show you what the scene looks like here this morning. a crew is still here on fire watch. they're telling me there is concern about the stability of the building from the fire and all the water that they actually poured on it overnight. this is a three-alarm fire that displaced 18 people. a firefighter just told me when they got heres are flames were huge. they were pouring out of the building and most residents were already outside, but it damaged six units. two of them completely uninhabitable. it took them three hours to knock this down. residents in neighboring units had to evacuate while this was going on. captain ron brown just told us how that firefighter, a 16-year veteran, got hurt. >> it turns out that their initial d

. san rafael police tell us the shooting took place just before 1:00 a.m. here. there was a huge crowd in the parking lot when they arrived. officers say two men were hit by bullets. those men were transported to marin general hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. police have detained two other men at this point they are still trying to determine if and how they were involved. >> i can tell you as far as i have heard it sounds like this started as a physical altercation inside the club that may have spilled out into the parking lot. which culminate into shots being fired. >> reporter: police found several weapons on the scene. lieutenant told us there was another shooting here back in actually. that shooting was fatal. meanwhile investigators expect to be out of here for most of the morning. san francisco boulevard right now between anderson and 101 freeway will remain closed for a few more minutes. this parking lot will be closed for several hours. reporting live in san rafael lorraine blanco ktvu channel 2 news. >>> time now 5:04. police in richmond investigating a second deadl
